Ways to Participate

Business Champions are formally linked to our mission to educate tomorrow's leaders through the following programs - please choose your desired participation level:

Career Peers:
Business champions participating in this option help students explore their career interests, develop a resume, and prepare for interviews.

Career Partners:
There is a positive correlation between academic achievement and adult involvement in the life of a child. The Annual Career Day program provides an opportunity for the entire student population to explore career interest through dialogue with professionals. Business champions participating in this program prepare and present an overview of their profession.

Shadowing Opportunity:
As an additional means of exploring career choices, business champions provide an opportunity for one or more interested students to shadow ('follow') them through a routine work day. Students benefit by observing leaders manage various aspects of a profession.

Internships:
Business champions participating in this option select one or more students for periodic or summer internships. Students have an opportunity to explore career options and earn class credit while obtaining on-the-job knowledge and experience. Compensation is optional.

Summer Employment:
Young people and businesses both benefit from summer youth employment. Businesses have the opportunity to contribute to the enrichment and economic empowerment of youth, while young people gain valuable work experience and the opportunity to interact professionally as a staff member.

Speakers Bureau:
During the academic year, business champions are invited to address the entire student body and select classes. Presentations are designed to be motivational and augment specific subject areas.
Sponsorship:
Current tuition is $6,500.00 annually and among the lowest of the private and parochial high schools in the Washington Metropolitan area. Nonetheless, it exceeds the means of many families we could serve. Business champions participating in this component contribute financially to cover full or partial tuition for students with financial need.
Merit Scholarship:
Business champions participating in the Merit Scholarship program contribute financially to cover full or partial tuition for students with high academic standing.
Networking:
Champions choosing this option help the students, faculty, and administrators find and access resources and opportunities through the Washington DC region
