Our interdisciplinary curriculum provides each student with a rigorous and broad education. The curriculum is rooted in the liberal arts tradition, with an emphasis on acquiring knowledge and mastering skills in a comprehensive range of disciplines: the mathematics and sciences, literature, history, the arts, languages, and physical development. As well, innovative Advanced Placement and/or Honors courses are offered in each of the core academic subjects. At Carroll, the students are challenged to think critically and creatively. Independent thinking and promoting respect for self and others is always encouraged in this intellectual community. Because a curriculum is only as strong as its faculty’s readiness, Carroll takes great pride in our world class teaching talent. Our instructors are exceptional with all having bachelor degrees, 75 % have a master’s degree (or are enrolled in a postgraduate program), and 7 % have an earned doctorate or terminal degree. As well, our dedicated counseling staff has over a century of combined work experience. This highly knowledgeable staff helps make Carroll students very desirable to the most competitive colleges and universities by providing specialized and individualized counseling. Consistently, 98% of our student body matriculates to institutions of higher education each year having earned thousands of dollars in scholarships and grant-in-aid. As you have probably surmised, Archbishop Carroll High School is a special place. Our expectation for each student is moral and academic excellence. We are committed to providing students with educational and life experiences that will assist in the transition to adulthood, through the example that Christ lived. We invite you to consider Carroll and discover the difference a Catholic education can make. André Smith Academic Vice Principal asmith@archbishopcarroll.org |
